Swiss GAA at Féile Peile na nÓg 2026 – Maastricht

Basel GAA was proud to represent Switzerland at this year’s Féile Peile na nÓg in Maastricht, one of European Gaelic football’s most celebrated underage tournaments.
Twelve players from across Switzerland made the trip and the weekend was a reminder of everything that makes the GAA special.

In the true spirit of Féile, our players joined forces with clubs from across the continent. The Swiss boys lined out in a composite team alongside players from Frankfurt. Our Basel girls were split across two composite sides — some joining Vannes/Lorient, others lining out with Brussels — a reflection of the community and flexibility that define Gaelic games at this level.

The boys (Swiss/Frankfurt/Netherlands) pushed through their group stages and reached the Shield semi-finals before going down narrowly to Brussels who went on to lift the Shield. A strong performance and a result to build on.

The Vannes/Basel Girls closed out the day with a win to finish 6th out of 8 teams in the
championship — a solid result in a competitive field.

The Brussels/Basel Girls delivered a composed display in the Shield final, winning narrowly against Luxembourg to claim the Shield title. A fantastic achievement for everyone involved.

Overall honours went to the Spanish clubs: Galicia on the boys’ side and Estrella on the girls’ — congratulations to both.

Well done to every player who represented Swiss GAA this weekend, all the coaches for your hard work and training, and the parents and committee members for your organization and support.
